As you enter Estes Park, the view is spectacular.  It's hard to imagine a more beautiful place.  No wonder it is always on the list of most beautiful mountain towns in the USA.

Winter Activities - Borrow our snowshoes and sleds

1/11/2023

When you stay at the Overlook, you can borrow our sleds, snowshoes and even crampons for FREE.  This can save you hundreds of dollars.  We usually have everything you need.  However, sometimes you might need something special.  Luckily, there are lots of places in town that offer rentals.  Here is just one example along with current pricing as of 12/2022.

There is an excellent sledding hill inside the park.  It is just 15 minutes away.  It is called Hidden Valley.  There are even picnic tables and rest rooms.

Just a mile down the road is the YMCA.  The offer lots of winter activities including ice skating.

Be sure to check on what is happening inside the park.  There are frequently guided snowshoeing and birding trips.

Merry Christmas 2022

This is a picture looking straight at the front of the Overlook.  It was taken December 2022.  On the right you can see lights above the yard and the Outdoor Bar.  Behind the cabin is nothing but forest.  In fact, the property backs up to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Picture
This photo was taken the same time as the previous photo.  It shows the front of the cabin from a different perspective.  The Overlook was one of the original homesteads in Estes Park. It is perched on Eagle Cliff Mountain overlooking the valley.

Picture
Here is a different view of the home, yard, Outdoor Bar and Gazebo which can barely be seen behind the Outdoor Bar.

Picture
Here is another photo of the cabin.  It shows the "Love Locks" built into the front wall, the flag pole, and the grassed yard.  You wont see any homes behind the Overlook.  You will only find forest.

Here is the view from the front porch.  The mountain on the right side is Prospect Mountain.  This is where the Estes Park Tram runs.  You can watch the tram from the front porch, yard, or even the Hot Tub.

Picture
Another perspective on the front view.  The road that approaches the Overlook is private.  It dead ends just past the Overlook.  This last few hundred feet of road is slightly steep and can be slippery in winter.  This is why we recommend all wheel or four wheel drive in winter.

Picture
The master bedroom has a sitting area, bookshelf full of books and games, and a walk in closet.  It also has doors that open to a private patio directly off the bedroom.

This is the view out the back door of the Overlook.

This custom Gazebo has a hot tub inside as well as a fireplace.  It is private and secluded.

Picture
In the winter, the Outdoor Bar magically transforms into Santa's Workshop.  If you are lucky, you might spot Santa instructing his Elves.
